Part-magazine, part-book, part-postcard from a forgotten era. Our pocket guides are tactile, collectable keepsakes. There will be one edition per season. We’ll print in small batches, on demand.

Locality

We love where we live. The guides are for anyone else who loves it, too. We use the south-west to describe the upper part of the region, including: Bristol, Somerset, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire, dipping into Wales, Dorset and Devon.

Words

We value hyper local knowledge and well-crafted words with meaning. We don’t copy and paste from the internet, or re-hash old news. The art of the printed word lies in the process; the research, the conversations, the ideas which arrive at three in the morning.

Design

Pastel ice cream parlours, roadside diners, Italian bistros. The sunny feeling of being on holiday. Sundae’s look was inspired by fun, joy and escapism. We appreciate the power of colour. We commission talented local photographers and artists to help us create each guide.

Print & paper

High-quality paper is important to us. It’s all about holding something in your hands. We print using G . F Smith papers, at With Print in Somerset. At 195mm x 115mm, the guides are pocket-sized and compact.

Themes

Each guide has a distinct flavour. Broadly, we cover food & drink, homes, art & design and adventures. We avoid trends and our themes centre on the rituals and moments that connect us all. Simple things to cherish in a complicated world.
